This past Sunday, we celebrated our mothers for Mother's Day with a message from Pastor David on Psalm 127. Each lady left the service with a special gift bag containing a notebook, pen, and glass jar with verses of scripture inscribed on each.
We also ended Sunday's service with the acceptance and celebration of a new member into our local church body! Welcome to the family, Bryan!
If you haven't gotten the chance to hear Bryan's testimony:
On January 7th of this year, Bryan underwent a biopsy and was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma. He was given a year to live and treatment options seemed grim.
After many years of wandering from the faith, the trials and trouble created by this new diagnosis and the likelihood of a long road of treatment had Bryan seeking hope in the Lord. With the invitation and prompting of his son, Nate, Bryan began attending Sunday morning services at Buckeye Baptist, bringing along his young daughter with him.
Bryan's trouble over these past 4 months has brought him close to God; and as Bryan has drawn near to God, God has drawn near to him (James 4:8).
This Thursday (5/14), Bryan gets to "ring the bell" at his cancer treatment center. This signifies that he has completed his course of chemotherapy and is officially in REMISSION!!!
We are so thankful to have witnessed God's healing in Bryan's life - physical healing with the remission of his cancer, emotional healing with restored hope and connection with his family, and most of all, spiritually with his salvation and reconnection to the Lord!!!
Please make sure to keep Bryan and his family in your prayers! Celebrate and encourage him as a new brother in our church family at Buckeye Baptist!
