Samuel's Ordination & Celebration

Sunday we were able to celebrate Samuel's ordination. This was a time spent focusing on Samuel's training in the Word and his call by the Lord to pursue ministry. Pastor David & the deacons of Buckeye Baptist questioned Samuel and we listened to Samuel's answers defending major church doctrines. We ended in a time of prayer, encouragement, and fellowship.

Wednesday night, Samuel shared more about his call to ministry and ordination and the verses the Lord laid on his heart when making the decision to pursue full-time ministry.

Isaiah 61:1-3 ~ "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified."

1 Peter 5:2-7 ~ "Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."

Congratulations Samuel! We are proud of your obedience to the Lord's calling on your life and pray for the impact you have had and will continue to have on others!
